Edits and new items are not showing up on other devices

Seems there are now quirks I am running into recently:

  1. When I create a new login for a website 1P does not save that login in my list of logins, but it is in fact saved.  After creating the new login I go back to edit it and it does not appear in my list - and when I search for it, there are no results.  However, if I go to the website URL to login, 1P recognizes the page and I can then let 1P fill in the credentials and it logs me in.  The only way I can seem to get 1P to show the login in my list is to re-boot my Macbook Air.  Very strange.
  2. Seems like now I have to use Chrome to login to the 1P community as Safari does not work - a message pops up saying: "Unexpected Error Please try refreshing the page and submitting again"  However, nor amount of refreshing works.  See screen shot

  • Hello folks,

I'm sorry for the late update. This issue was resolved back in April and 1Password should now show new items, or edits made to existing items, created using one client app (including browser extensions) in other client apps almost immediately.

If you're still seeing an issue then please reach out to support@1Password.com so that the team can help further.

This seems to happen to me often in Safari (extension) and occasionally in Chrome (also extension).

It is always solved if I open 1password on my phone - it will appear immediately there, and once I've done that, it appears in the desktop app.

The new edits are always also available immediately in 1password.com in the browser.

It seems just like the desktop app lags behind syncing.

Thank you for those details. The next time that the issue occurs, while you still don't see the edits in the desktop app, I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from the 1Password desktop app:

      Send a diagnostics report

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

      With your email please include:

Dave I haven't had any problems since I reported it months ago.

I'm sorry that you're still seeing an issue. Can you tell me a little more about what specifically isn't working? On which device are you creating or editing items and on which device are you not seeing those edits? Are you using the desktop app or the browser extension?

And, when the issue occurs, do you see the new item/edits when you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?

        Hello.

I created an account just to report the same problem. In my case, logging in and out of VPN and/or using incognito on Chrome while creating the login entries seemed to have caused this.

What solved it in my case was to kill all 1password entries in task manager on Windows 11 and open it again, causing it to ask for login again. Then the newly browser-created entries appeared in list of the desktop app.

ok thank you Dave.  Also regarding issue number 2 with Safari, I see n response and I just logged in on Safari so it seems that issue has corrected itself.

I'm glad that you're now able to sign into the community using Safari. 🙂

I'm sorry that you ran into an error message when trying to sign into the community using Safari. The error message that you're seeing is something that others have reported seeing as well (in other browsers like Chrome) and we've opened a ticket with our platform provider to investigate this further.

For the time being, the error usually goes away after some time for most people. Can you try clearing Safari's history/cache to see if that improves the situation?

  • Hello BenBob! 👋

Thank you for reaching out. Our development team is currently investigating an issue where customers may not see new items, or edits made to existing items, created using one client app (including browser extensions) in other client apps.

As a workaround until the issue is resolved, you can manually lock and then unlock 1Password where you're not seeing the new item or edit appear to have that item or edit appear. If you're using 1Password.com then refresh the page. Let me know if this workaround doesn't work for you.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon. I'll update this thread when I have more news to share.

edit: This issue should now be resolved. If you're still running into issues then please send an email to support@1Password.com so that the team can help further.

As of today, I am also noticing my users having issues with 1password not saving login credentials. The web extension will have a current list but the standalone app wont. When creating a new login the extension will save it but the app wont.
