Issues with 1Password on iOS and Windows

I agree on the decline in quality not only due to bugs but also in usability:

  • New features like unlock with device (iOS, Windows) fail almost all the time (it's not actually unlocking with the device)
  • on Windows it's not possible to start 1Password silent in the background, I needed to implement it myself (simple feature but it seems hard to implement)
  • Just discovered that 1Password supports filters for focuses on iOS but guess: it seems just half implemented and does not show all of my collections and is therefore useless
  • then about collections: I still don't get why collections as a feature is not implemented consequently over all available integrations. in the browsers it's still missing, and you need to fiddle around with single vaults being selected or not
  • usability is sometimes annoying in the browser when the extension is trying to fill in stuff, but you don't want to, even closing the suggestions makes it pop-up in every new field again > not very nice on a small iOS display

  • Hello aguther! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password on Windows and iOS. So that we can keep the discussion focused on specific issues, I've split your comment into a new thread. I'll reply below:

I've replied to your other post here.

Can you double-check that you've turned the following option off:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Windows.
    2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
    3. Turn off "Open 1Password on startup".

If that still doesn't work then how did you install the 1Password app? Using the MSIX installer? The Microsoft Store? Are you using Windows 11 or Windows 10?

Just discovered that 1Password supports filters for focuses on iOS but guess: it seems just half implemented and does not show all of my collections and is therefore useless

It sounds like you may have run into a bug that our development team is tracking. Could you try creating a new collection using 1Password for iOS, does that allow for all of your collections to appear for selection in focus filter?

then about collections: I still don't get why collections as a feature is not implemented consequently over all available integrations. in the browsers it's still missing, and you need to fiddle around with single vaults being selected or not

Thank you for the feedback, I've passed along your feature request to our team internally.

Are you referring to the inline menu in Safari:

If you are then you can set this menu to only appear if you click on the 1Password icon in a field:

    1. Open the 1Password for Safari pop-up by tapping on the extensions icon in Safari's address bar and then tapping on 1Password.
    2. Tap the menu button, then tap Settings.
    3. Tap Autofill & save
    4. Turn off "Show autofill suggestions when a form field is in focus".
