Multiple 1Passwords Issues
Don't want to jump on the bandwagon of the move away from native macOS app but getting very tired of the stability of 1Password on macOS.
In the past I never thought about password management. 1Password was excellent, stable.
Now I have several issues.
Clicking on a username or password to copy only works sometimes. It says it's copied but the cut n paste buffer doesn't have it.
The safari plugin is almost unusable. On a daily basis it will not show the passwords for the site I'm on. I goto the icon for 1Password in the safari and open it. It sits there and spins for a bit then loads.
Still it doesn't work. It only starts working when I restart Safari. Not great !

Another issue. Created a new login for a website. It saved in the safari extension. But wouldn't appear in the main app until I have restarted it all. The extension is barely usable.

I'm sorry that you didn't immediately see a new item in the desktop app. Are you still seeing the same issue if you create another new item? Or did the issue only happen once?
If the issue occurs again, then can you try to lock and then unlock the desktop app. Does that get the item to show up immediately?

I was going to start a new thread, but see this one basically encapsulates everything that I am currently banging my head against. Currently, I can't get the 1P extension in Safari to fill anything; I've tried quitting 1P and Safari and restarting, I've tried deactivating the extension and reactivating it, everything. Everything works fine in Chrome; in Safari, NADA.
I've generated two diagnostics files, and am about to send them to 1P support; I did two because I wanted it to be clear this wasn't just a single website that wouldn't auto-fill, it's literally everything.
I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but the instability of the Safari integration has gotten so bad that it's making me question continuing to use 1P. I'm not sure what happened, why things have gotten worse and worse so quickly, but... it's bad.

Hysterical — I just walked away from my computer for a minute, came back, and now 1P is happily filling fields in Safari.
THIS is the frustration — the fact that it sometimes works, most of the time DOESN'T work, and there's no rhyme or reason or anything you can wrap your head around that might fix the times when it's not working.
This is baffling.

The Safari extension is completely broken for me and has been for nearly a week.
- Passwords fill in once and then the extension stops working
- Extension takes 10 seconds to load every single time
- Passkey prompts are no longer showing
- Inline button for 1password does not work

I have to agree where MacOS is concerned. Specifically the Safari plugin. It's either really very slow to populate username/password fields or populates part of a password and no username and requires restarts of the safari to resolve.. Sadly I've just renewed my subscription last week but browser plugin, which is my goto is just getting worse. There's no doubt 1password has far richer capability than the new MacOS option but one is free and one isn't and I'm struggling to justify the subscription cost.

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password for Safari. Are you able to share the address of one of the webpages where you're running into the issues so that I can try to reproduce it on my end?

Thanks 1P_Dave . I can't share links as the issue occurs mostly on my work MacBook and it's mostly company internal sites where I see the problem. I do note your comment below about Safari 18.4. That is the version I'm currently using so hopefully there's a fix in the pipeline. Completely quitting Safari seems to resolve but I tend to have many tabs open and can be a pain logging back in.

I'm having the same Safari Extension issue. I just upgraded from 1Password 7 to 8 a month ago (as the release for v8 was disastrous and I needed to revert back to v7) and otherwise all is good except the issue with 1Password for Safari where it stops offering autofills and passkeys randomly. Full Safari restart always fixes this until it happens again (quite often to be honest). I could be wrong but I think that version 8.10.70 had less these issues than 8.10.72, but as I said I've only been using v8 for a month so I don't have much user experience data gathered at this point.
EDIT: Correction, Safari Extension is still at version 8.10.70 but my other 1Password apps have updated to 8.10.72. So it's not that then.

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password for Safari. Are you using Safari 18.4? If you are then it sounds like you're running into a known issue that our team is working with our friends at Apple to resolve where certain filling and saving features are getting partially broken in the latest version of Safari.
The next time that the issue occurs, and you're not able to fill your login, can you try to open the same website in a new tab and see if that gets things working for you?

1P_Dave It happened now and I tried that and it did not help. I also tried to open another web service which I have credentials stored in 1Password and autofill did not work there either. When this occurs there is always the issue where the 1Password Safari Extension just shows a loading indicator when the icon is clicked on the browser toolbar.
But, as always, a full Safari restart fixes the immediate problem.

It fails pretty much all the time. Just again lost all the details for something I created. This use to be a stable product. Going backwards.

For what ? There are constant issues. Not won't cut n paste even though it offered me the option.

I'm sorry that you're still seeing issues. Please follow the steps in my previous post to send in a diagnostics report so that the team and I can better understand what's going wrong and work on a solution. You can find the post here.

Hello berksgr! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into multiple issues with 1Password for Safari. As a first step, can you try the following:
1. Close all open web browsers.
2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
3. Double-click on **1Password** from your Mac's Applications folder.
4. Open your web browser. Then, if you see the issue again, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser so that I can investigate further:
Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

I think it's important to understand that we have paid for this service. And it's glitchy. And to get it to work, we have to provide you with information. I just want to live my life here. I'm not getting paid for this, right? I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app and the Safari Extension multiple times just to be able to use what I paid for.

And now it's failed to store a new website account, so I've had to reset the password before ever using the account ! This is poor.

I'm with you. It's either so intrusive or it doesn't work.
