Thank you for reaching out! Selecting a vault and then pressing Command-F will add a search filter for that vault in the search field. I've just checked an older version of 1Password 8 from a year and a half ago and it was the same behaviour there.
Our support page for search has also documented the same behaviour since the support page was updated for 1Password 8 in 2022:
Select a tag, category, or vault and press Command-F. The matching search filters will be added to the search field.
Do you happen to remember the last time that you selected a vault, pressed Command-F, and didn't see a search filter for that vault added to the search field? Is it possible that you were using an older version of 1Password and not 1Password 8?
That being said, you can clear a search filter from the search field by pressing esc on your keyboard so that the search scope then includes the entire account or collection. Let me know if that doesn't fit your workflow.
