Trouble getting started

We purchased a family account, and I have had multiple issues getting things up and running.

Issues that seem to be causing problems-

We use both Mac and Windows devices.

-Wife and I use a shared email and our own emails.

-Seems like we get passwords set, but then try to access the sites and can't. It seems like sites with more in-depth (high security) don't work well with 1Password.  This problem, in particular, is troublesome as it does not allow us to access important sites like Capital One.

I have watched some YouTube videos, but none seem to be helpful.  Any suggestions for help, specifically video help?

Thank you,

  • Hello Rob13! 👋

I'm sorry for the delay in responding here, welcome to the 1Password community! It sounds like you're having some trouble filling your login credentials for Capital One (and possibly for other websites). I see that you tagged both Windows and iOS in your initial post, can you do the following as a first step:

    1. Make sure that iOS AutoFill is enabled for 1Password on iOS: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad
    2. Make sure that 1Password in installed in your browser on Windows: Get to know 1Password in your browser

Then try to fill your login credentials again. If that still doesn't work then can you tell me the following in regards to Capital One:

    1. Are you unable to fill on iOS or on Windows? Or both?
    2. Are you trying to fill into the Capital One app? Or into their website?
    3. If you're trying to fill into their website then what browser are you using and can you share the website address of the page in question?

The frustrating silence from the Community is likely because you don't describe any actual problem with which we could possibly help. This is exacerbated by the spurious claim that somehow 1Password "does not allow [you] to access important sites like Capital One", as if 1Password was blocking the site.

I suggest that you try identifying just one problem. Describe what you did, what happened when you did it, how that differed from what you wanted or expected, and what you did as a result.
That is, of course, after searching the Community to see who else might have encountered the problem.
