1Password tries to save a passkey when I did not initiate the process
Windows 11
Firefox 138.0.4
1Password Firefox Extension version: 8.10.81.1
1Password for Windows 8.10.80 81080023, on PRODUCTION channel
It has happened on multiple Firefox versions (it gets updated), same with 1Password App. I have updated it a few times before. Cannot tell you if the Extension got updated in between though
Sometimes, 1Password tries to save a passkey, even though I am not initiating the process, nor am I trying to create a Passkey.
For me, it only happens when I visit "Amazon.com > Return & Orders" page
It doesn't happen everytime I visit the page, but it does at some random? interval (I haven't exactly kept track, but it has happened like 10+ times over the past few months/year).
As soon as I go to the page, 1Password brings up this screen:
I have blacked out the contents for privacy purposes. But it does have My name, my personal vault, and then a list of various Amazon accounts to select from.
I then hit the [x] and then this windows pops up:
Once I click cancel, it goes away. And the page I was going to is there just fine. I can click refresh, go back and then click the Returns page, and it won't pop up again, until the next time maybe a couple weeks or a month from now.
But again, I am not trying to save a passkey. I am not in the security details page of amazon, just clicking on the Returns-Orders link.

Hello PrinceZuko! 👋
I'm sorry that you're seeing an unexpected passkey prompt when visiting an Amazon page. So that I can look into this further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser the next time that the issue occurs:
Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:- A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/1password-tries-to-save-a-passkey-when-i-did-not-initiate-the-process/158410
- Your forum username: PrinceZuko
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!-Dave

The ability to generate a diagnostic report for 1Password for Firefox is currently unavailable. https://support.1password.com/cs/extension-console-log/ to 1Password support if you’re having trouble with 1Password for Firefox.
Firefox doesn't have the ability. I guess I can try it on chrome ever so often and try and get a diag report. But if the issue is Firefox specific, not sure how that will help.

Thanks for the reply. A console log for 1Password from Firefox will provide similar information to a diagnostics report from another browser, you can follow the instructions for Firefox on the page that I linked to or use this direct link:
Let me know if you run into any issues.-Dave
