Twice in the past week I've found my Mac (Monterey 12.2.1) become sluggish, and discovered an enormous number of processes called 1PasswordSLSNativeMessageHost consuming CPU. Easy enough to kill the processes, but concerned that this is a new misbehavior.

Hey folks,
@JasonLP:
Perfect, I've located your email, and we'll be in touch.

@piccachilly:
We're actively investigating, but in the meantime, disabling "Integrate with the 1Password app" in 1Password in your browser's settings (right click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar > Settings) should improve the state of play.
@ostertoaster:
Let us know if does happen again, and we'll be happy to investigate!

For what it's worth, this bug was absolutely destroying Chrome for me after updating to version 99.0.4844.74. I followed 1P_Tommy's instructions, disabled the Chrome extension (just for extra coverage), then updated to 1Password 7.9.3. Chrome came back fine, and then I enabled the extension again and held my breath... and now it's behaving.
Just to be sure it wasn't starting up with the extension disabled, I restarted Chrome, and it's still doing OK. That said, @JasonLP's experience makes me nervous.
Hoping Agilebits can get to the bottom of this quickly!

I have the same issue and it's completely disrupting my workflow.
We standardised our startup on 1Password and we've enjoyed your product so far but this problem is going to force us to migrate to another provider very quickly if this cannot be solved.

Hi Jack,
FYI--I sent in the sample process report. The email I received back just indicated that the team is aware of the issue and is working on it, but did not include a support ID.

Serious problem for me as well. I have tried the steps above and it is really not working. Generating way more 1PasswordSLSNativeMessageHost processes than I have windows opens (dozens an hour, from what I can tell) Completely jamming my ability to do work.

Hey @JasonLP:
Thanks for following up here. We're still actively investigating and digging into this. To help us narrow down what could be causing this, I'd like you to collect a sample from one of the
1PasswordSLSNativeMessageHostprocesses when it occurs. To do this, when it occurs again, select one of the processes in Activity Monitor, then from the 3 dot menu choose "Sample Process". Save the file, then attach it in an email tosupport+x@1password.comand include a link to this thread:https://1password.community/discussion/127795/1passwordslsnativemessagehost-processesAfter emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot with a support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your email conversation. Thanks!

After a few days, this problem popped up again. I confirmed that I'm on 1Password version 7.9.3. I saw Jack_P_1P 's message about restarting Chrome, and I did. But then it happened again with minutes.

Same experience on Monterey 12.2.1. Killing processes resolves for a time but then pops up again. I notice it at least every other day or so.

I have done everything that 1P_Tommy and Jack_P_1P have suggested, however this problem is continuously occurring for me, and is heavily disrupting my work flow, having to force quit the 1PasswordSLSNativeMessageHost processes every 10 minutes or so.
Currently using the OperaGX browser on a MacOS Monterey 12.1,
Would love to find a proper fix,
