2 Factor Auth Code after Upgrade
I just got this message after upgrading and am not sure how to handle it since there is no way to get the code with the pop-up blocking access to the app. I chose no for now and do not know to get back to the screen. Any help on what this means?

Hi Jack,
Yes it does, thanks. I have had 2FA enable since I switched to a 1Password.com account last fall and only recently did I get the message.

Hi mdvzo:
In short it's simply to avoid situations like this. If you only have access to your 1Password Emergency Kit (say a natural disaster destroyed your house, but you had an offsite copy of your Emergency Kit), you'd need your one-time password as well as your Emergency Kit details, but your one-time password is only stored in your 1Password account, meaning that you can't access it.
As for why you received the message, did you only recently enable two-factor authentication? The next time the 1Password apps check with 1Password.com after enabling two-factor authentication for your 1Password account, you're required to enter your two-factor authentication code or use a security key.
Let me know if that makes sense!

Jack since the 2FA is set up on the website 1Passwrod.com what is wrong with using the 1P desktop or iPhone app for 2FA to 1Password.com, and why did I get that popup message. I am using Authy now but trying to understand the issue.

Hi mdvzo:
That's exactly right. If you've enabled two-factor authentication for your 1Password account, then the app you use to store your two-factor authentication shouldn't be 1Password.
If you're able to unlock 1Password on the web, you can turn off two-factor authentication there, then re-enable it using a separate app to store your one-time password. Let me know how you get on with that!
Additionally, since your image contains some personal information, I've gone ahead and deleted it as the Support Community is a public forum. 🙂

I am guessing I used 1Password to do 2FA when I moved from Dropbox standalone account to a 1Password.com account and used 1Password to do that since I never saw an issue since it was an online account that used 1P to fill. I had never been prompted in the app before today. I am referring to this article. https://support.1password.com/two-factor-authentication/
So I need a 2nd authenticator app?
