iOS app can't scan QR codes
Every time I try to use the iOS app to scan a QR code I get an error saying "1Password has to be full screen to use the camera." This is preventing me from adding TOTP to some of my logins. This persisted after a full delete/reinstall of the iOS app as well. I checked in the iOS privacy settings and 1Password has permission to access the camera in there.
Hello folks,
Our developers have investigated and have identified an issue in iOS that can cause 1Password to fail to scan a QR code on iPhone and iPad. We've filed feedback with Apple to report the issue so that it can be fixed in a future update to iOS. In the meantime, we're also planning to make the error message more descriptive.
For the time being, restarting your iOS device should get things working again. I recommend reporting the issue to Apple on your end as well so that they're aware.

Hey Dave, thank you for looking into this. I have reported this to Apple using their unsolicited feedback form and referred to this thread, too. Hope this gets resolved rather quickly! Cheers

This has been happening to me too, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 18.5. I do not believe this is an issue with 1Password but within iOS itself, as my camera also randomly stops working in other apps, for example in Signal. Instagram on the other hand still works. My guess is that there are different APIs for accessing the camera and one of them is broken. Restarting my phone does fix it, but I’ve restarted it every day for the last few days and that gets old real quick.

Just wanted to chime in that I also ran into this issue on iOS 18.5. I thought it was a 1password bug, but then I noticed that the embedded camera in a couple other apps didn't work either (ex. Starbucks when trying to scan a giftcard barcode). Weirdly the main camera app and other apps like Instagram were fine.
Rebooting my phone resolved it.

Hey sachiko-windows-handful , can you share with us what version of iOS you're running? It might be an iOS bug and I'd like to test that possibility.

Thank you for providing the iOS version, I've shared that with our development team.
As jeremyw013 mentioned, iOS 18.5 is now available and it's a good idea to update. If you still see the issue after updating then please let me know.

Hi sachiko-windows-handful,
Thanks for posting this! We've gotten a couple reports of this behavior. We're investigating to see if it's a 1Password bug to fix or if it's related to something else that we'll need to work around.
