slow/delayed response from 1PW on MacOS

Hello-

I'm experiencing very slow/delayed response from 1Password on my Mac OS running Sequoia V15.5.  Is anybody experiencing similar behavior?  Any assistance with a solution is appreciated.

    Hi Dave-

    Thanks for your response.  Oddly enough, the issue I've been experiencing seems to have corrected itself soon after I submitted my message to the forum.  Go figure!  These delays I've been experiencing have been going on for several months before I got around to posting on the forum.  I have no explanation for what caused it to act up and how it stopped.  Anyway to answer your questions the performance issue occurred only when using the desktop app.  My Mac has the Apple M3 chip.

    I'm sorry that you're running into performance issues with 1Password on your Mac. Can you tell me a little more about where you're seeing the performance issues? Is it when using the desktop app? Or when filling logins in the browser? 

    Can you also tell me if you're using an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac? You can check using the steps in this article: Mac computers with Apple silicon

        I'm glad that you're no longer seeing the issue! We received reports from customers reporting performance issues and, after investigating, determined that a small minority of customers were using the Intel build of 1Password on Apple Silicon Macs which can cause performance issues. 

        The latest updates to the 1Password for Mac desktop app contain a fix to automatically move customers to the correct build and I suspect that this resolved the issue for you as well. Let me know if you see the issue return in the future.

      I have the same experience on Silicon Mac, 1Password app. I am a slow typer, but if I type a character, I have to wait until it appears on the screen. Also starting the app is very slow. This behavior is new. On iphone, everything fine.

        I'm sorry that you're seeing a similar issue. I suspect that you might be using the Intel version of 1Password on your Apple Silicon Mac which can lead to performance issues. Can you tell me the following: 

        1. Open your Applications folder and right-click on the 1Password app then click Get Info. What do you see next to "Kind" in the window that appears? 
        2. What version of 1Password are you using: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system
