1Password Firefox Extension & DocuSign Application Error

We've noticed over the last few weeks that all of our users were having Application Errors when trying to log into DocuSign. We finally confirmed today after troubleshooting and talking with DocuSign support that the cause of the issue is explicitly the 1Password Firefox Extension. Using the 1Password extension with other browsers doesn't cause the issue and disabling the Firefox Extension resolves the issues. Our users are currently using the extension to sign in, which triggers the Application Error, and then manually disabling the extension which resolve the issue.

  • Hi,

I am happy to report that I current am not encountering the issue anymore (Firefox 138.0.3 and 1Password 8.10.76.34).

    Not sure of what changed.

    Thank you for the support.

Just updated to version 8.10.76.34 and the issue is still not resolved.

Our developers are currently testing a fix for the issue internally. Once our initial testing is complete, the fix will be released to the beta and then the stable version. I'll continue to keep this thread updated. I'm sorry again for the disruption.

Our developers have made some improvements to 1Password in the browser to help with the error message being reported when using DocuSign. Today, a server-side change was made to put those improvements into effect. Could you do the following:

    1. Make sure that you're using 1Password in the browser version 8.10.72.27 (the latest version): How to update 1Password
    2. Completely close and then re-open Firefox.
    3. Try to reproduce the issue on DocuSign again.

Please try again now after reading this even if you've recently run into the issue using the same version of 1Password. If you do still see the same error message then please let me know and I can report this back to our development team.

Thank you for testing. I'll bring this back to our development team and report back with an update as soon as I can.

Confirming the behavior GaryH is seeing--I have 8.10.75 installed and closed/restarted Firefox, but the Application Error persists.

This must be fixed ASAP; this is impacting a lot of your customers and the lack of communications is concerning.

Same issue here. Please prioritize as this is impactful to me.

  • Hello folks,

I'm sorry that you're running into an "Application Error" when accessing Docusign in Firefox. This is a known issue that our team was able to reproduce the on our end and a internal issue has been opened with our development team to get this fixed. The team is actively working on a fix and I'll continue to keep this thread updated.

I'm sorry for the disruption. For the time being, using a different browser to access Docusign would be the best option. Alternatively, you can temporarily turn 1Password in the browser off while accessing Docusign: Disable or remove Add-ons

Are you serious ? Your accepted solution is: Sorry, just either disable the add-on or use another browser ?

Well, perhaps we will see how the competition is doing.

In the current accepted solution to this thread I shared that our developers are working on a fix and provided some workarounds in the meantime until the fix is available. We're currently testing a fix internally and hope to release it as soon as possible. I'll make sure to keep this thread updated and I'm sorry for the continued disruption to your workflow.

Marking a post as a solution to a thread doesn't mean that the issue/request itself is fixed or closed. It's a way to highlight the most up-to-date answer for anyone who stumbles onto the thread in the future.

This has been extremely frustrating the past few weeks. So much wasted time trying to troubleshoot what I thought was an authentication or browser caching issue, when it was just a rogue extension. Please say there is an update to address this underway!

I have been getting the same Application Error using FireFox when accessing DocuSign. Do you have an estimate of when it will be fixed? How will we know when it is fixed?

This is also happening for me on Firefox for Mac. I came on here just to post the same thing. I contacted DocuSign help and they knew of the issue and were able to recommend toggling the plugin.

Is there a timeline to address this?
